Next Week's Positivity Character Strength: Into Week - Other People Mindset
We are so excited to be partnering with the Positivity Project again this year.
Next week, all children (grades K-5) will introduced Positivity characteristic of Intro Week - Other People Mindset.
What is the Positivity Project?
The Positivity Project, also referred to as P2, uses 24 character strengths to help students build positive relationships. Positive relationships are the cornerstone to health, happiness and resilience. Each week all children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will be introduced and explicitly taught the same character strength. Everyone in our Long Meadow family will be provided with the same definition for each character strength. Children will soon be able to “see what the character trait looks like” through the use of videos, books, and discussions.

We have provided the one page character card and age appropriate video based on grade. The family link will include the definition of the character trait we are learning, a short video to watch as a family, and sample discussion questions to continue learning about Positivity in Action at home.

STUDENT CHROMBOOK / RCS TECHNOLOGY INFO
We understand that some students still need a Chromebook. You can check appointment availability here. Detailed instructions for additional device pickup dates will be shared this week. Distribution options will include appointment-only days and mass-deployment days with no appointment required. We are confirming logistics, seeking volunteers, and organizing the delivery of devices from locations throughout the district.
All 1:1 device distributions are coordinated through Technology Services, not through individual schools. Our media centers have devices available for temporary daily checkout and shared labs. Media center Chromebooks support the daily needs of our students and are not intended to be issued as 1:1 devices that leave the building.
As a reminder, our technology teams have provided a great collection of family resources. If you need a refresher on how to sign in on a Chromebook, use Google applications, explore Chromebook features, access ParentVUE / StudentVUE, or use other district tech tools, please visit the Family Technology Support page found on the RCS website. It is customized for RCS parents and students and provides tips and resources to navigate our digital learning tools. Each page is filled with videos, support documents, and answers to frequently asked questions.
