Our students, along with the rest of the elementary, middle, and high school students, have spring testing coming up. At the elementary level, students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade take the M-STEP.
Please keep an eye out for communication from your student’s teacher regarding the timing of that. Please note that during M-STEP testing no assistive technology is allowed. In general, as a school, students are expected to keep smartwatches, phones, and Chromebooks in their backpacks or other designated locations in the classroom unless the class is using them as a part the lesson or their day.
“Students are not permitted to use, to wear, or to access any personal, non-testing electronic devices during testing or while on a break when in an active testing session. These electronic devices include but are not limited to smartphones, cell phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth headphones, headphones that allow access to voice assistant technology, and computers and/or tablets not being actively used for testing purposes.”

What is the Positivity Project?
The Positivity Project, also referred to as P2, uses 24 character strengths to help students build positive relationships. Positive relationships are the cornerstone to health, happiness and resilience. Each week all children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will be introduced and explicitly taught the same character strength. Everyone in our Long Meadow family will be provided with the same definition for each character strength. Children will be able to “see what the character trait looks like” through the use of videos, books, and discussions.
