During the pandemic, teaching and learning in Oakland County school districts has been happening in a mix of at-home and in-school settings. When school is remote or hybrid, parents and caregivers have been wrestling with how to foster their children’s well-being, nurture skills for school and life, and engage in academics with their children. The resources in this guide provide three high leverage practices for supporting learning at home. For additional real-time ideas, opportunities to collaborate with other parents, and continued support, join the free Partnerships@Home series.

What is the Positivity Project?
The Positivity Project, also referred to as P2, uses 24 character strengths to help students build positive relationships. Positive relationships are the cornerstone to health, happiness and resilience. Each week all children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will be introduced and explicitly taught the same character strength. Everyone in our Long Meadow family will be provided with the same definition for each character strength. This common language along with classroom instruction tailored to each grade level, will help to provide students with a deeper understanding of each character trait. Children will soon be able to “see what the character trait looks like” through the use of videos, books, and discussions. Children will be able to identify character traits in themselves and others.
We are looking forward to working with families joining with us putting Positivity in Actions. Please see the schedule below.
