Rochester High Student Council is putting on our third annual trunk or treat event. This event will take place on Thursday, October 27th from 5-7 pm at the Rochester High Parking lot. This event will be free for families to attend. We will have trunks decorated by clubs at our school, and students passing out candy! We will also have goodie bags for each kid with some activities to do on paper. There will be food and beverages available for purchase as well.
5th graders created 3-dimensional paper sculptures. They practiced creating balance and harmony with black and white and thick and thin line. Students were introduced to Detroit artist Charles McGee and his work in the community.
We are so excited to be partnering with the Positivity Project again this year.
What is the Positivity Project?
The Positivity Project, also referred to as P2, uses 24 character strengths to help students build positive relationships. Positive relationships are the cornerstone to health, happiness and resilience. Each week all children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will be introduced and explicitly taught the same character strength. Everyone in our Long Meadow family will be provided with the same definition for each character strength. Children will soon be able to “see what the character trait looks like” through the use of videos, books, and discussions.
